ABET Accreditation​​:

The undergraduate program BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET,, under the General Criteria and the Industrial Engineering Program Criteria.

Program Educational Objectives:

The Industrial Systems Engineering Department has defined a set of program educational objectives that translates its mission into defined tasks. The Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) program prepares ISE engineers, who within a few years of graduation will:

  • PEO-1: Become leading professionals in their careers by demonstrating technical expertise in Industrial and Systems Engineering and interpersonal skills. 
  • PEO-2: Continue their professional development and learning to adapt to ever-changing environments.
  • PEO-3: Make positive contributions to their organizations, profession, and society at large.     

Student Outcomes:​

Student outcomes are statements that describe what students are expected to know and be able to do by the time of graduation. They are related to skills, knowledge and behavior that students will acquire through the program. The student outcomes of the Industrial & Systems Engineering program are as follows:          

  1. an ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics
  2. an ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors
  3. an ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences
  4. an ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts
  5. an ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives
  6. an ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions
  7. an ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
